Find out moreInvite Kurt along to share his personal journey with Parkinson's disease. Through personal testimony, bible teaching and prayer Kurt will introduce believers and unbelievers to Jesus, the one who meets us in our suffering with hope and healing.
Find out more Kurt was radically saved by Jesus at 20 years of age. He went from the agnostic drug taking idiot studying sport science to the born again Christian who wanted everyone to meet Jesus.
A few years later Kurt was convicted by Jesus through prayer and the counsel of others to pursue pastoral ministry. Kurt was compelled by the promise of Jesus that he would give him 'His heart for his people'. In particular Jesus has given Kurt a passionate about caring for Jesus Red (wounded) sheep.
This passion for broken Christians has led him to pursue training in biblical counselling and pastoral supervision. During his 18 years as a Pastor in Sydney he co-founded a biblical counselling network and pursued a part time Ph.D looking at the lived experience of christian growth in the midst of suffering.
In 2018 Kurt’s Ph.D became his own lived experience when he sufferd burnout and was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease. Since that time Jesus has been teaching Kurt what it looks like to walk with Him in weakness and trials.
In 2023, after stepping back from study and the counselling network, Kurt finished up in his role as Pastor. He is now the Director of Red Sheep a network of pastoral supervisors passionate about equipping ministry workers to thrive and endure through the stresses and strains of serving God’s people.
Kurt’s speaking and workshops focus on testifying to Jesus strength in his weakness. He is convicted from scripture and his own experience that suffering, although not God’s desire, is something the Lord uses to draw us into more intimate relationship with Jesus. His talks and workshops focus on equipping Christian leaders and lay people to walk honestly and humbly with God in the midst of pain.
In this workshop, Kurt shares his personal journey of developing Parkinson's disease and coming to know "the power of Christ's resurrection" through embracing weakness. With gentleness and wisdom, he explains the biblical view of weakness, offering practical steps for lamenting, finding contentment, and walking confidently in God's strength.
Kurt provides space to process pain and find hope in Christ through personal prayer, lament, and sharing weakness with others. The workshop aims to equip Christians to see weakness as an opportunity for deeper intimacy with Jesus, greater dependence on his grace, and experiencing the comfort of Christ in order to comfort others.
